Our Projects

EAA Education Center

Education Outreach Center

The $2.5 million EAA Education Outreach Center will encompass 3,500 square feet and feature unique learning experiences that will broaden imaginations through participation in innovative STEM opportunities with an inclusive mindset. The EAA Education Program strives to educate and inform minds – because with the minds of many, great things are possible!  For the next 25 years the EAA pledges to serve more students and have a positive impact throughout the region. A permanent location for a dedicated EAA Education Outreach Center at Morgan’s Wonderland Camp will give the EAA a platform to educate up to 500 students per day.

Field Research Observatory

Field Research Observatory

A hallmark of the Edwards Aquifer Authority has been its commitment to research. The opportunity to elevate our research capabilities to new heights presents itself in the placement of a state-of-the art field research observatory in northern Bexar County, on a city of San Antonio-owned parcel of property adjacent to the soon-to-be-built Morgan’s Wonderland Camp, over a portion of the recharge zone of the Edwards Aquifer.

Water Level Reading Station

Aquifer Science Research

At the core of the Edwards Aquifer Authority is the science and research we engage in daily.  This work provides us with the basis for understanding and insights that are vitally necessarily in planning the future well-being of the Edwards Aquifer. Some of the opportunities in hardware that currently present themselves are in monitoring/research equipment & computer systems and weather stations.

Edwards Aquifer Conservation

The Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) requires certain groundwater withdrawal permit holders to develop and implement individual groundwater conservation plans. In addition, the EAA promotes water efficiency through the implementation of a regional groundwater conservation plan (GCP) and its water conservation programs.  Through these plans permit holders are required to achieve year-round conservation through the implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs).  Conserving groundwater is important to the effective management and sustainability of the Edwards Aquifer.

In a continued response to Covid-19, the EAA & EAC will remain working in a telecommuting manner until further notice.
